Figs with honey and goat's cheese filling from Bridgerton

Recipe for delicious stuffed figs for an evening treat à la Bridgerton.

Emily TimberlakeSusan Vu
There is a reason why the Romans considered figs to be a gift from Bacchus, the god of wine and carnal pleasures. A single bite of these wonderful morsels with their wonderfully aromatic, creamy filling is enough to make young ladies blush. However, there are no innocent debutantes in "Lady Danbury's den of iniquity", only exuberant ladies who appreciate a seductive treat.

Ingredients (16 servings)
500 g fully ripe small figs (16-20 pieces, depending on size)
1 tablespoon(s) honey, plus a little for drizzling
100 g room temperature goat's cream cheese (chèvre)
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
6 large mint leaves
2 tablespoon(s) hazelnuts, roughly chopped and roasted
  • Wash the figs and pat dry. Cut a lid about 5 mm in size off the figs. Scoop out some of the flesh (about 1/2 teaspoon at a time) with a spoon handle and place in a bowl. Stir in the honey until the mixture has a jam-like consistency.
  • Add the goat's cheese and mix.
  • Season everything with salt and pepper.
  • Wash the mint leaves and pat dry. Roughly chop 4 mint leaves and fold into the goat's cheese mixture. Pour the mixture into a small piping bag with a 6 mm diameter nozzle and fill the figs to just over the edge.
  • Place the figs on a serving dish. Drizzle with a little honey and sprinkle with the chopped hazelnuts. Roughly chop the remaining mint leaves. Garnish the stuffed figs with them. Finally, sprinkle with a little pepper. Serve immediately.
