13-year-old Buddy Oliver follows in the footsteps of his famous father Jamie Oliver and launches his own children's cooking show Cooking Buddies.

Buddy Oliver, the 13-year-old son of British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, is following in his famous father's footsteps and launching his own cooking show for children. The new ten-part series Cooking Buddies will be broadcast from July 10 on the BBC children's program CBBC.

In Cooking Buddies, Buddy Oliver shows his young guests how to prepare simple and tasty dishes such as spicy tomato pasta, pizza and crispy chicken. But the show offers more than just cooking instructions: In return, Buddy's guests teach him their own skills, be it basketball, ice skating or salsa dancing.

Jamie Oliver, known for his efforts to promote healthy eating and cooking skills in schools, said he was proud of his son's new project: "Being able to cook is such an important skill for kids to learn, it’s up there with reading and writing – so I’m really proud of Buddy for making this brilliant show that encourages others to give it a go. Full of easy, big-flavour recipes that will keep children happy and healthy, I hope it inspires people to get in the kitchen and try cooking for themselves."

The series promises an entertaining and educational experience for the whole family. In addition to Buddy and his young guests, the family dog Conker, a border collie, will also appear in the show. Conker is voiced by actor and comedian John Sparkes, which adds an extra touch of humor and charm to the series.

Cooking Buddies is based on Buddy Oliver's YouTube channel of the same name, which has already inspired a large number of young cooking enthusiasts. The show will comprise a total of nine episodes, with an additional Christmas episode.
