The tasting menu is approximately 25 servings.

As the Stavanger restaurant Hermetikken is actually owned by its sommeliers, needless to say the wine selection is astonishing. Having said that, the food isn’t bad at all, and the restaurant was recently awarded one Michelin star. You can either enjoy a lovely seven course normal menu or a 12 course Oma(K)ase menu.

The name K2 is not related to the famouse mountain, but the two K’s in the surnames of founders Ola Klepp and Elisabeth Kres. A 10-course tasting menu focusing on minimal food waste and the tiniest possible carbon print, featuring organic, local produce; the key factors in this restaurant located in Norway’s oil capital Stavanger. Bellies exclusively serve plant-based food, having humorously named their large menu “Full Bellies”. Omakase Chef Roger Asakil Joya serves a style of sushi called Edomae using locally caught produce, at the 10-seat counter of this lovely restaurant. This restaurant and wine bar is split in two. The space of the new location is beautifully decorated with lovely art and a wine room behind transparent glass. The 7-course menu made by head chef Fredrik Wickstrøm Engen and his wonderful team is a tribute to local produce from the sea and mountains of Trøndelag. The wine bar offers a very good selection of dishes and wine by the glass.

Skagen 3, 4006 Stavanger/Sandnes, Norway

The latest project from Chef Roger Asaki Joya of Michelin starred restaurant Sabi Omakase offers a unique Nor-Kaiseki sushi experience that may leave you weeping with joy. Spiseriet (meaning “eatery”) is the restaurant located inside the Stavanger Concert Hall and has a lovely view of the fjord.
