The Triebaumer family ushered in a new era of Austrian red wine over 30 years ago with the Blaufränkisch Mariental from 1986. Today, they have the knowledge to develop agriculture as a key part of an economy fit for grandchildren. Generous increases in biodiversity and the resulting boost in biomass production on the land soothe the monocultural "bellyache" at all levels. By allowing them to do so, the natural cycle is able to regain momentum of its own accord. The year-round work of their flock of sheep raises the energy level in the plants to a whole new level. Diversity creates a stability that fully embraces the vines and the grapes ripening on them. These growing conditions for the grapes, finding the perfect time to harvest, selective hand-picking with the highest standards and natural yeasts are the basis for a vinification process that is based on craftsmanship, time and basic trust and produces wines that are bursting with vitality and independence for decades to come. In order to develop and preserve the inner beauty of the young wines without any intervention, the Triebaumer family mainly uses wooden barrels in their traditional cellars. These have a capacity of 300 to 5,000 litres and allow the wines to go through their development processes on their own initiative in order to find their centre. After the respective ageing period, they are gently brought together. All red wines and the "Urwerk" line can be bottled unfiltered as they have had sufficient time for sedimentation. With the totality of their work, the Triebaumers lay the foundation for wines that allow the full spectrum of the Rust soils and their grape varieties - above all Blaufränkisch - to be experienced sip by sip with their full inner tension, structure and depth.
