Puhwein

Falstaff Wine Guide Austria 2023/24

Egon Puhwein is an enthusiastic winegrower who is particularly fond of traditional Austrian grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt, as well as Riesling and Gewürztraminer. He also grows the international varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. He sees quality-oriented work in the vineyard as the basis for high-quality grapes. Natural management, strict yield restrictions and careful foliage work are the cornerstones for this. He is constantly working on the further development of vinification methods and the consistent implementation of innovative ideas. The white wines are fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, while the red wines are aged in barrels or large wooden vats.
