Sasaya has been one of the best Japanese restaurants in Berlin for years. Diners sit cross-legged on the floor or at the bar, where they can watch the sushi master prepare the delicious sushi. The price-performance ratio here is excellent.

The vegan Kara - which means something like Japanese fried chicken - in Kreuzberg is a must for gourmets! Juicy, spicy and crispy coated, as a bowl with rice or accompanied by chips. Be sure to try the various sauces and Onigiris.

Delicious baked goods such as black sesame cookies, melon pan, matcha cheesecake or hearty Onigirazu are prepared by owner Machiko at the Japanese bakery Kame. The food can be eaten on the floor or at one of the tables outside in the simple ambience.

Niko Niko Ramen at Boxi in Friedrichshain is truly an institution. In a spartan atmosphere, the soups based on vegan broth, pork and chicken broth are served with homemade noodles, vegetables and a choice of pork chashu or a meat alternative made from soy.
