Michelin Guide comes to Quebec

Best restaurants

After Toronto and Vancouver, restaurants in the province of Québec will also be awarded Michelin stars for the first time next year.

Canada can look forward to the culinary appreciation of another region: In spring 2025, restaurants in the eastern Canadian province of Québec will be awarded the coveted stars for the first time.

Geneviève Cantin, President of the Alliance de l'industrie touristique du Québec, emphasizes the importance of this development: “Québec, with its creative culinary scene that focuses on local products, stands out as an outstanding gourmet destination in North America.”

Québec on the culinary upswing

The inclusion of restaurants from Québec underlines the international relevance of the local gastronomy and tourism industry and promises further growth for the sectors. This further reinforces an existing market trend: a survey by the Ministry of Tourism found that around 70% of visitors to Québec are interested in regional gastronomy.

Restaurants from Toronto and Vancouver were already included in the prestigious restaurant guide in 2022. The integration of the French-speaking province was driven forward by the government and various tourism organizations, including the Alliance de l'industrie touristique du Québec.

The partnership is being funded with 450,000 Canadian dollars from the Canadian government. The funding is intended to benefit not only the hospitality industry, but also other sectors of the tourism industry.
