Sarah and Mete have created a little oasis with their stand at Viktualienmarkt. Sarah's excellent Turkish meze is available at a few bar tables on the terrace directly on the market, while Mete's curated selection of wines with a focus on Turkey and Germany can be taken home to drink.
Celebrity chef Ali Güngörmüs runs a place for delicious meze right next to Gärtnerplatz - next to his cooking school. Traditional recipes are reinterpreted without losing any of their authenticity. Always fresh - and a lunch here tastes really fabulous. Highly recommended.
The bread at this kebab spot near Giesing station is freshly baked. The team is friendly and quick and in addition to the classic kebab, the other oriental specialties are also good, as are the vegetarian and vegan options. A must afterwards: the baklava!
Star barkeeper and author Cihan Anadologlu runs his Hans Kebab in the tradition of authentic kebabs, but also dares to try new interpretations. In addition to the classics, you can always order the exclusive Wagyu kebab or a great veggie kebab in top quality!
The kebab in the Verdi Süpermarket (by the tills) is considered the best in Munich. Where, if not here, in the huge Turkish supermarket? You should also do your shopping at the same time: The fantastic vegetable section and the fresh meat counter are great!
The easiest way to think of Uyghur cuisine is as a mixture of Turkish, oriental and Chinese flavours and preparations. The hand-pulled noodles are a classic, cooked spicy with lamb, wild garlic and vegetables. Try them authentically at Taklamakan!
Calling itself "Best Döner" is quite a statement. The rush at least lives up to the promise. The quality and selection are also good and the crispy falafel is a good vegetarian option. And if you're not in the mood for lahmacun and pide, you can also find "real" pizza here.
Even if Kashgar looks like a normal kebab store at first glance: That's deceptive! Here you will find authentic Uyghur cuisine with many options such as homemade noodles and dumplings, lamb kidneys or chicken gizzard salad. Whole shoulder of lamb is also available to pre-order.
Manti are filled pastry pockets. Lezizel serves them with meat or vegetarian, with yogurt sauce and many different toppings of your choice. A warming and filling option for on the go and to take away to Gärtnerplatz. It can take a while at busy times.
The quality of the kebab and the other specialties at Bosporus - from falafel and pide to eggplant salad - is solid and the staff are always friendly. The meat skewers, hot scoops and baklava for dessert are also delicious and fresh. Top option near the Isar.
