The ordering process alone is creative here. Guests are given a cardboard menu on which they can put together their burrito, burrinho, naked burrito or salad. The card is handed in and a short time later delicious Mexican food is served.
Fish, meat, veggies and tapas for between five and ten euros per portion: Café Madrid serves delicious Spanish appetizers as well as sumptuous main courses such as Iberian organic pork. The term "café" doesn't quite do the restaurant justice, as it seats over 200 people.
Once you have gained an overview of the very varied menu, the choice is not much easier: not only the large selection of different tapas, but also the wine and beer list is extremely varied. Our tip: order one of the sumptuous "Plato Principals".
Tacos, nachos, salads and snacks plus a refreshing margarita: you can get it all here. And if the delicious food wasn't already so convincing, the relaxed seating makes the visit a complete experience. The atmosphere is always relaxed.
The restaurant plays with maritime art and has kept the tables outside and the decorative elements inside in blue. The tapas selection is large and offers a wide range of dishes, from prawns in a fruity sauce to buffalo burrata on tomato carpaccio and seaweed salad.
Chorizo, grilled cheese or soy steaks: Mediterranean cuisine is the order of the day at Caracan. Tapas are often served, but they also offer rice pans with seafood and even Andalusian breakfasts. This often includes toasted bread with tomato, but churros are also on offer.
"Tosta Mista" - a double sandwich with cheese and ham - is one of the many delicious dishes on offer here. For the sweet tooth, there are pastéis de nata. This is accompanied by galão, a Portuguese drink in which espresso and milk are frothed together.
In summer, the beer garden at Sancho Pancha invites you to try the Texmex menu. Plentiful portions, quick and friendly service and perhaps the juiciest ribs in town: a visit to the quiet Schleussig is not only worthwhile in summer.
