Valued at 1.27 billion euros, Moët & Chandon stands as the most valuable wine and Champagne brand globally. It is closely followed by three other Champagne brands, all of which are also owned by LVMH.

LVMH owns the four most valuable wine and Champagne brands in 2024, according to a new report from Brand Finance, the world's leading brand valuation consultancy. The brand value of Moët & Chandon has increased by nine percent year-on-year to 1.27 billion euros, maintaining the Maison's position at the top. The next three places are also occupied by brands owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy), the world's largest luxury goods group.

The US company Chandon, whose brand value has fallen by 1 percent to 900 million euros, is in second place in the ranking of the most valuable wine brands. In third place is the Champagne brand Veuve Clicquot, with a brand value of 873 million euros, while Dom Pérignon is in fourth place with 710 million euros. Changyu from China, the second most valuable brand last year, fell to fifth place after a 33 percent drop in brand value.

Sustainability as a decisive factor

“The wine industry is undergoing significant change as both producers and consumers become more environmentally conscious. Brand Finance's research shows that sustainability is now a key consideration for eleven percent of customers in the sector. Companies that adopt practices such as reducing pesticide use, recycling water and ensuring fair treatment of vineyard workers are becoming increasingly attractive to consumers. As a result, many growers are revising their practices to better protect the environment and safeguard their vines against climate extremes. Transparent communication of these efforts is likely to be a key factor in the coming years to gain consumer trust, strengthen their preference and ultimately ensure brand success,” says Henry Farr, Director, Brand Finance.
