SirDavis: Beyoncé and Moët Hennessy unveil Whisky
In collaboration with Moët Hennessy, Beyoncé introduces SirDavis whisky, featuring a bottle design that echoes the elegance of a perfume bottle.
Beyoncé is the record holder with 32 Grammys and her fortune makes her one of the richest musicians in the world. However, the US R&B and pop singer has been proving for several years that she can do more than just music – in addition to fashion and acting, she is now expanding her portfolio and entering the world of spirits. In collaboration with Moët Hennessy, a subsidiary of LVMH, she has developed the whisky SirDavis.
The name SirDavis honors Beyoncé's great-grandfather on her father's side, Davis Hogue, who worked as a farmer and moonshiner during the Prohibition era. With this whisky, she not only pays tribute to her family history, but also combines traditional values with modern flair. Her great-grandfather's initials are engraved on the bottom of the bottle.
Dr. Bill Lumsden, Master Distiller at Glenmorangie and Ardbeg, led the development of SirDavis. The mash of the whisky consists of 51% rye and 49% barley, thus deviating from the usual standards of the category. After maturing in American white oak casks, a secondary maturation takes place in sherry casks, which gives the whisky depth and complexity. “SirDavis is not only a revelatory and exceptional American Whisky, which we are very proud of. It is also a testament of the unwavering dedication to craftsmanship, heritage and innovation shared by LVMH and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter,” said Bernard Arnault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LVMH.
SirDavis will be launched in September in the US, London, Paris and Tokyo. Pre-orders are possible via SirDavis.com.
