Schlossgut Liebieg

Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2024

Bernhard Kirsten and his team cultivate an impressive 30 hectares. The Schlossgut estate seems to approach the wines from different sections of the river with a wealth of stylistic ideas: here, vinification is clearly not based on run of the mill methods. The full-bodied single vineyard wine from the Winninger Brückstück is allowed to mature in 500-litre barrels, while its counterpart from the Trittenheimer Apotheke is aged in granite barrels - which suits the delicacy of this wine. Both are successful. The other wines also make a good debut in our guide.
