Josef Lentsch III handed over the winery to his daughter Christine Glück in 2019. Together with her husband Andreas, she brings a breath of fresh air to the classic Dankbarkeits repertoire and is now the fourth generation to run the traditional business. The two of them impress with their professional qualifications, which are particularly evident in the development and care of the wines.
The winery cultivates ten hectares of vines. Of particular interest are the Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, both of which are also vinified as Prädikat wines in good years. The Karmarzik vineyard, known to locals as "Schrammel", is their favourite vineyard. It is located directly on the lake towards "Hölle" (the lowest point in Austria) and consists of pure, light-coloured alluvial sand, which expresses the clear fruit. Despite measured acidity, the wines are very long-lasting and harmonious. The site is located in the middle of the national park, and Welschriesling and Pinot Blanc Weissburgunder also thrive here. These vineyards were planted in 1989 and Prädikat wines have been produced from the grapes grown there every year since 1998.
